The NHPTV Online Auction starts November 17th and runs through December 5th. In addition to all the other wonderful goods and services, you can bid on an original painting that I have donated, a 20x24 acrylic painting titled "Going to School on a Frosty Morning".
This painting is a bit different than my usual work; the buildings are much larger on the canvas, and there aren't quite as many people in the scene. Some of us remember waiting for the school bus in winter...staying in the warm house as long as possible before running to catch the bus before it left us behind. Our driveway was a long one, so it was risky to wait indoors. We didn't dare miss the bus. It would mean a lecture and a day at home doing extra chores and possibly another talking to. Things were different then, and it was the only the 1960's, not that long ago. Things certainly have changed. These days I see parents sitting at the end of short driveways waiting for the bus with their children...in the warm seasons.
