This print is titled "Fifteen Tree Hill", and is a favorite winter scene of mine. When I think about growing up on our farm, and about wintertime, the sky was always this color. We would go sledding after school and chores, until the sun set; the colors in the sky sharp, cold and clear as a bell, the light getting dimmer and dimmer until it was too dark to see. The farm had great hills for sledding, the barbed wire fences added an element of danger, although we usualy avoided a shredding by rolling off our sleds at just the very last minute.
