When we were kids, my father had a pond dug especially for skating in the winter, and swimming in the summer, and we did alot of both.
When he sold the farm, and built the new house just up the road, another pond was dug, and the skating continued, along with bonfires, hotdog roasts on sticks, marshmallows, and plenty of hot chocolate. Good times, and many, many wonderful memories!
This is my latest painting, titled 'Valentine's Day', chock full of love, love, love, happy couples, and warm hearts and hands. Skaters, a favorite topic of mine, twirl on the frozen pond, while the mailman delivers Valentine cards to all, and a quiet snow blankets the little village. This painting is available at my Etsy shop, so scoot over there and get all the details!
Last night was supposedly the coldest night we've had this winter, but my thermometer only read 10, and as one of those people that is out every morning to do some type of chore, I know it's been colder than that other mornings. One morning, for example, it was 6.
I needed some SPRING today. Where should I look for it but in my photos, and there it was in the form of some beautiful shots of our barn, all dressed up preparation for a baby shower we held for Sarah Blank, my niece, who was about to become a mother for the first time.
Be warned, there are quite a few, as I really needed a dose of green and growing.
